Why do we need novel feed ingredients?

The supply of animal feed is at risk. Climate change, deforestation, overfishing, and soil depletion are all threatening our supply of key feed ingredients.

We need to develop new types of animal feed to meet the needs of our growing population. Novel feed ingredients that are sustainable, scalable, and safe can help support the UN Sustainable Development Goals by reducing resource scarcity while mitigating the environmental impacts of the food system.
